Medical supplies worth a million that are necessary for the urgent need of the flood affected people was donated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Anthonipillai Gnanapragasam, Bishop of Mannar to the Mannar District General Hospital. The Director of the hospital, the MOH and the Hospital Development Committee members received the supplies.

H. Donation of Essential Surgical Medicines Worth Over LKR 100,000 to Mannar District General Hospital to Improve Healthcare Services for Disaster-Affected People

With the aim of improving healthcare services for the people of Mannar District affected by disasters, essential medicines required for surgical procedures, valued at over LKR 100,000, were donated to the Mannar District General Hospital.

This donation was made by the Brahma Kumaris Meditation Centre operating in the Mannar, Eluthoor, Selva Nagar area. The medicines were officially handed over to the Director of the Mannar District General Hospital, Dr. M. H. M. Azaath, in a formal ceremony.

Provided with the objective of enhancing patient care services at the hospital, this donation is expected to significantly strengthen treatment facilities. Appreciating this humanitarian initiative carried out in the interest of social welfare, the Hospital Director expressed his sincere gratitude and commendation to the donors.

The Ministry of Health has released the results of the national-level competition held between hospitals in view of World Patient Safety Day. In this competition, the Mannar District General Hospital won first place, receiving the Gold Award as well as a special certificate of appreciation. The award was presented by the Minister of Health and Media to the hospital’s Director, Dr. M. H. M. Asath.

Despite limited resources in the Mannar region, the dedication and leadership of the hospital director contributed to achieving this accomplishment. The Vathupitivala Base Hospital secured second place, while the Udukama Base Hospital obtained third place.

The theme of this year’s World Patient Safety Day is: “Safe care for every newborn and every child.” Research indicates that many harmful incidents affecting newborns and children in healthcare settings—such as unsafe deliveries, infections, delayed diagnosis, and medication errors—are largely preventable.

The 2025 campaign emphasizes the importance of strong safety standards and improved training to enhance healthcare safety for children.

இரண்டாம் இடத்தை வத்துபிட்டிவல ஆதார வைத்தியசாலை, மூன்றாம் இடத்தை உடுகம ஆதார வைத்தியசாலை பெற்றன.

உலக நோயாளர் பாதுகாப்பு தினத்தின் கருப்பொருள்: “ஒவ்வொரு புதிதாகப் பிறந்த குழந்தைக்கும், ஒவ்வொரு சிறு குழந்தைக்கும் பாதுகாப்பான பராமரிப்பு”. புதிதாகப் பிறந்த குழந்தைகள் மற்றும் குழந்தைகளுக்கு சுகாதார பராமரிப்பில் ஏற்படும் பல பாதிப்புகள், பாதுகாப்பற்ற பிரசவம், தொற்று, தவறான நோயறிதல், மருந்துப் பிழைகள் போன்றவை — பெரும்பாலும் தடுக்கப்படக்கூடியவை என்ற ஆராய்ச்சிகள் கூறுகின்றன.

2025 பிரசாரம் குழந்தைகளின் சுகாதார பாதுகாப்பை அதிகரிக்க வலுவான பாதுகாப்பு தரநிலைகள் மற்றும் பயிற்சிகளின் அவசியத்தை முன்வைக்கிறது.

Outstanding Contribution of Mannar District Health Staff

Comprehensive medical facilities were efficiently provided at Madhu Hospital for the hundreds of thousands of devotees and members of the public who took part in the historic annual August festival of Our Lady of Madhu in the Mannar Diocese.

These healthcare arrangements were carried out under the guidance of Dr. M.H.M. Azaath, Director of Health Services, Mannar District. Health service staff from hospitals across the Mannar District worked in close coordination to ensure the well-being of all pilgrims.
